Trellis, Your Framework for Learning

The Trellis family of products consists for three major software modules: TellisManage, TrellisAuthor, and TrellisTalk.

TrellisManage is the core learning management system.

  • TrellisManage includes the learner interface. We call this the learning center. The learning center is totally customizable. The default includes a home page, a learner transcript, a document page for creating a library of course-related materials, and a support page.
  • TrellisManage provides a single point of sign on for both learners and training administrators. Administrators create learners, courses and course sections for all learning formats (online self-study, web seminars, and classroom courses), and schedule classroom sessions web seminars. Standard reports include learner transcripts, course enrollments and completions, and various usage statistics.
  • Learning administrators can create certificate programs and curriculums around courses in various catalogs of courses and pre-register learners in single courses or these curriculums. The curriculum/certificate function allows administrators to easily create programs for talent management initiatives as well as programs to fulfill various compliance programs.
  • Administrators can relate documents of various types (PDF, Word docs, Excel spreadsheets) to courses and upload these for access to learners to insure the course materials are available at the point-of-need for learners.
  • TrellisManage includes built-in e-commerce functions for organizations who want to sell courses or other products online.

TrellisAuthor is the learning content management system of the overall Trellis product.

  • TrellisAuthor provides a browser-based, WYSIWYG environment to create online self-study courses.
  • The system automatically creates the HTML code for the courses based on “course templates” Learning.net helps you create.
  • Video, sound, graphic, and Flash files can all be easily embedded in courses from libraries of learning objects you upload to the system.
  • Testing objects of various types (multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, true/false, rank order, select-all- that- apply, etc.) can be created using fill-in forms.
  • The instructional writer controls all aspects of course creation and publishes the course to TrellisManage.
  • TrellisManage will also support any course created compliant with SCORM 2004, so best-of-breed, third-party products such as Articulate and Lectora can also be used to create courses and tests for use with Trellis.

TrellisTalk is the web seminar element of the Trellis family of products.

  • Learning.net has successfuly integrated TrellisManage with LiveMeeting and WebEx using standard API’s from the software developer. So with TrellisTalk, we decided to offer our own webseminar product available through Trellis.
  • This is a complete integration. All upfront scheduling, course entry, and downline administration are done through the Trellis interface. This offers the benefit of a single point of entry for all learning by both learners and administrators.
  • TrellisTalk pricing is based on usage. Every TrellisManage administrator can purchase one-off learning sessions through the administrator interface. For organizations who want bulk purchasing options various cost-saving plans are available.
